Tetramethylthiuram disulphide with elastomer binder and dispersing agents.
IsogranĀ® TMTD-80 causes very rapid and scorch-safe vulcanization of natural and synthetic rubbers. If Mercapto or Sulphenamide accelerators are added, the vulcanization undergoes retardation. In such cases they have little effect on the degree of crosslinking; they mainly reduce the scorch rate and increase total curing time. IsogranĀ® TMTD-80 receives an additional activation from basis accelerators, e.g. Aldehyde-amine and Guanidine. IsogranĀ® TMTD-80 is used as a primary accelerator in combination with sulphur, as a secondary accelerator in conjunction with Thiazoles and as a curing agent without sulphur. Sulphur-less cure or low sulphur vulcanization provide heat resistant vulcanizates with good ageing properties.
